Follow along in your office

  1. 01

    Record a payment

Open Billing, then Payments in and press Record a payment. Search for and select the person who paid, then choose the file this payment belongs to.

  2. 02

    Enter the receipt details

Check the date, enter the amount, and choose the method used. Add a payment reference when you have one.

  3. 03

    Identify client money

Under This money is, choose Client money held on account. Use Payment to the firm for the firm’s payment instead.

  4. 04

    Save and verify

Press Save. The payment list identifies the destination. Open Work, then People and the person’s record to review the client-account balance.

Good to know

Choose the destination according to what the money is for. Recording a client-account receipt does not turn that money into the firm’s earned fees.
